Filey Brigg and Filey Dams

Sanderling

Knot

Turnstone

Oystercatcher

Redshank

Kestrel

Cormorant

Drake Eider

Fieldfare

Starling

Drake Teal

Drake Gadwall

A pleasant trip out to Filey Brigg and Filey Dams on a very sunny warm day in October. As a sign of Autumn all the drake ducks were back in full plumage and a large influx of Blackbirds, Redwings and Fieldfares were on the country park and top scrub.

It was great to see large groups of waders back on the brigg, and also 16 Sanderling in the bay corner. The Dams was very quite with just the Teal and Gadwall showing very well.

Scarborough Mere & Peasholm Park

Mute Swan

Black Swan

Chinese Goose

Grey-lag-goose

Grey Squirrel

Hybrid Goose

Mallard

Moorhen

Tufted Duck (female)
An afternoon spent walking around Scarborough Mere and Peasholm Park (where else can you take a pram?) gave me the opportunity to take some pictures of some of our common species with a few oriental ones thrown in for good measure.

Forge Valley Bird Tables

Robin

Nuthatch

Marsh Tit

Great Tit

Great Spotted Woodpecker

Chaffinch

Blue Tit

Another dull cold day so I thought I would brighten the day up a bit with a trip to Forge Valley feeding station. The birds were very active, lots of food had been put out on the tables attracting lots of different species.

Flamborough and Bempton

Brambling

Goldcrest

Grey Partridge
A very quite trip to Flamborough via Bempton produced the above birds. A very miserable day, hence the lack of quality in the pics. Very pleasing seeing the Grey Partridge, not as wide spread any more like the Red Legged.
