Welcome Back

Gannets

Kittiwake (juvenile)

Kittiwake

Fulmar

Yes folks, it's that amazing time of year again when the seabirds of Bempton Cliffs make their amazing journey's back to the reserve to start breeding. Its only early March and already the Gannets, Kittiwakes and Fulmars are back in big numbers. All the birds are busy with their courtship displaying and nest building.

It is only going to be a matter of a couple of weeks or so before we see phase two at Bempton - the return of the Auks! Guillemots, Razorbills and of course the ever popular Puffins will be back at Bempton soon and I will be waiting on the view points with my camera at the ready.

Great shots Steve. The action pics of the Gannets look particularly fresh. I'm going to have to get across soon!

Great to see you back on line Steve - and with a really great set of images!! They remind me that I must return to Bempton Cliffs again soon!! I have to wait for two or three weeks until my 'locals' (the Ospreys) return. Meanwhile I have been keeping myself busy with a new-found interest - Owls!! Hope to see you soon. Best regards - Richard
